Mind Full or Mindful? Strategies for Clinicians and Patients

This presentation will provide attendees with knowledge of the benefits of mindfulness for both clinicians and patients. This section provides an overview on the relation of mindfulness (the ability to attend in a nonjudgmental way to one’s own physical and mental processes during ordinary, everyday tasks) with various health outcomes for individuals. The presentation will include theory and research in the field of mindfulness and the emerging science that shows promising, beneficial effects for physical and mental health and well-being. Attendees will learn the principles of practice, develop their own mediation practice, and apply principles to daily life. The presentation will be delivered in a lecture format with attendees being taught various mindfulness practices including direct experience with mindfulness exercises.
